Cllr. Robert S.N. Baly   

 

Robert qualified as a Solicitor and then practised in Hong Kong for some 18 years as a partner of the law firm Johnson, Stokes and Master. He retired in 1990 and then he and his wife Sity, lived in Normandy for 7 years before arriving in Walberton in 1998.

Robert has been involved with the Parish Council since 1999 and his hobbies include gardening, sailing, horse racing and shooting.

 

 

Cllr. William Treves (Vice Chairman of the Council)

 

Bill Treves has lived in the Parish for 5 years and has been involved in Parish Council affairs for nearly 2 years. Having spent some 20 years working in the Construction industry Bill likens himself to a Poacher turned Gamekeeper on

planning matters. Bill likes to travel and hike, cook and eat, feel guilty and go to the gym, read history and visit architecture, do the garden and do it again - and must work to support working wife, three cats and all the above.

 

 

Cllr. Mrs. Sharon May (Chairman)

 

Sharon and her husband Richard have lived in Walberton for 12 years. Sharon has two children, Nicholas and Kimberley who have both left home, so the Siamese cats receive a lot of attention. Sharon works in the construction industry selling compressors in the UK, France and Germany. Hobbies include horse riding and golf.

 

 

Cllr. Mr. Mike Roddham

 

Mike has lived in West Sussex for over 20 years and moved to the village 12 years ago. He is married with two teenaged children and two dogs. Mike works in the health  service locally and is particularly interested in maintaining the rural character of the village and in facilities for young people. He enjoys reading and walking.

 

Cllr. Mrs. Sue Sargeant

 

Sue Sargeant has lived in Walberton since 1991 and takes a particular interest in planning anmd environmental matters and is the contact between the Parish Council and Walberton Action Group. She is passionate about sustainable village life and maintaining the rurtal character of the village and its surrounding countryside.

 

Cllr. Mrs. Sylvia Dealtry

 

Sylvia is a Sussex girl, born in Brighton and worked as a journalist for Good Housekeeping and Woman's Journal. She taught English and Drama in a West Sussex Comprehensive for 10 years and was head of Performing Arts at a Girls School in London for 10 years. She is married with 3 children and 4 grandchildren, is now retired, lives in Walberton and loves gardens and gardening.
