Welcome to our Village Hall.  We are situated in the heart of the village, and many local organisations as well as private individuals use our facilities regularly for all kinds of functions, events and activities. We are the centre of activities for the Village Festival every June, and host the Horticultural Society's annual summer Flower Show.  Our film season runs from October to March, during which we show six of the latest releases on Wednesday evenings, approximately once a month.  Tickets cost £5.  Forthcoming films can be seen in the Parish Diary.

We have two large rooms for hire:

1.      The Miller Barn is 62 feet by 19 feet, seating 200 for a meeting or 115 with tables,
2.      The Warren Room is 46 feet by 16 feet, seating 140 for meetings and 70 with tables.

The kitchen has recently been completely refurbished and now has a total of 4 ovens, 8 hotplates a double sink and a large capacity larder fridge and ample worktop space for catering for functions.  In addition there is a small kitchenette in the Miller Barn. We have ample china for a coffee morning or for a tea, and no extra charge is made for the use of the kitchen.

The hall complex is centrally heated, with adequate power points and is completely accessible for disabled people.  The Warren Room is fitted with a hearing loop. Our other facilities include a portable stage, and a piano.  The halls have a public entertainment licence from Arun DC, and are regularly inspected for safety, etc.

The buildings date back to the 18th Century, and were originally the barn and stables belonging to a local farm; the car park was the farmyard, and the original farmhouse is still next door. In 1981 they were converted to use as a village hall for the benefit of the inhabitants of East Preston and Kingston Parishes, and today are run by a self governing Trust with support from both Parish Councils.   In recent years we have received two lottery grants, and the building has been refurbished and redecorated. The Trust would like to thank Southern Water for contributing towards the purchase of water-saving taps in the toilets.

Outside, there is parking for 19 cars reserved for hirers, with room for a further 17 cars in the public car park on the north side of the building, by the entrance to the Recreation Ground.
