Arun's Major Parks We maintain many recreation grounds, play areas, sports sites, parks and open spaces, below you will find a list of some of the areas owned and maintained by Arun District Council

Established in the 1930s, this seafront park boasts exceptional summer and winter bedding displays and boasts many original architectural features, including an ornamental fountain.
In 2008 and 2009 Marine Park Gardens won a Silver Gilt award in the Best Park category of South East in Bloom.
Friends of Marine Park Gardens are an active support group who assist our department in improving the park.
Facilities: toilets, putting green (seasonal opening hours).

Next door to Marine Park Gardens, this lovely open space is a great spot to walk your dogs, have a picnic or take the children to play.
It has a large well equipped play area to cater for both toddlers and older children, next to a popular café which has both indoor and outdoor seating.
The park now has a new ’Friends’ group whose purpose is to enhance the biodiversity of West Park, increase appreciation and knowledge of all its users and protect the parks environment for the good of all.

Close to the town centre and Butlins, Hotham Park is where the founder of Bognor Regis, Sir Richard Hotham, built his home in 1792. Major restoration work has taken place in the park following a £2.2 million grant award from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Please follow the link for further information on Hotham Park restoration
Hotham Park was recently judged in the South and South East in Bloom competition and won a Silver-Gilt in the Best Parks Category. The park has also been awarded a prestigious Green Flag which is an award given only to the best parks in the country.

The Brooks is a 19-hectare park, in the coastal plain of West Sussex, near to Bognor Regis. It contains a variety of habitats including a pond, mature trees, hedgerows, ditches, scrub and wetland. The Friends of Bersted Brooks, with Arun District Council, were awarded a grant by English Woodland to plant and maintain three fields of riverine woodland, the planting of 11,000 trees was completed in 2007.

A small, calming space in a quiet residential area, formally part of the neighbouring Rectory, the park contains a mature Yew Garden and formal pond, a small Knot Garden, ornamental flower beds & rose border, with a boundary of mature trees.

Created between 1997 - 2000, alongside Malborough Place Estate, Brookfield now features a well-established lake, wildflower meadows, a woodland walk, small football pitch, several play areas, and maturing whip (young trees) areas. It’s a great place to walk, exercise and observe nature through the seasons.
In 2008 and 2009 Brookfield Park was awarded a Silver-Gilt in the South and South East in Bloom.

Close to both the centre of Littlehampton & the seafront, Marina Gardens boasts mature tree and shrub planting, along with a long, well-stocked, raised herbaceous border and bright beds of annual flowers.

Awarded a prestigious Green Flag, for the last 4 years which is an award given to only the best parks in the country, Mewsbrook Park, established in the 1930s contains a rich, colourful mixture of permanent and annual planting and has range of facilities to keep all ages entertained. Mewsbrook Park has an active community group who organise events and activities in the park.
Facilities: cafe, car park (Littlehampton Sports and Swimming Centre), toilets, original Art Deco shelters, miniature railway, boating lake with viewing platforms, children’s play area, children’s quiz trail, small football pitch, picnic area, interpretation boards, conservation area (Ruby Gardens).

Located on Littlehampton seafront and offering a fantastic range of activities tokeep the family entertained. The East Beach Residents’ Association plant and maintain all the annual flowers within the park, which bring a refreshing splash of colour.
Norfolk Gardens achieved a Silver gilt award in the Best Small Park category of the 2008 South East in Bloom Award
Facilities: cafe, toilets, miniature railway (running to Mewsbrook Park), tennis courts, pitch and putt, Adventure Golf, Bowling Green
