Environmental Health has achieved the Charter Mark for Customer Service Excellence.
 
We always welcome feedback on our Services.

 

Each year, the Environmental Health Service:

  • responds to over 6,000 complaints; from unfit food to unfit housing; 
  • inspects hundreds of food shops and workplaces;
  • licenses over 1,000 activities: from acupuncture to zoos, alcohol to taxis;
  • inspects bedsits for safety;
  • responds to pest control problems and collects stray dogs;

We work extensively with other statutory and voluntary agencies to improve local quality of life and are involved in Health Improvement and Community Safety initiatives.
