Council Tax is your contribution to the many services the council provides such as rubbish collection, housing and environmental health, as well as providing funds for the police service, schools and social services.

Council Tax is charged on all properties that are used for domestic and residential purposes. If your property is used for both domestic and non domestic purposes, (such as a public house), part of it will be assessed for Business Rates and the other part for Council Tax.

The level of Council Tax payable for properties in the Arun District Council area is decided annually and consists of a contribution towards services provided by:

·         West Sussex County Council;
·         Arun District Council;
·         Sussex Police Authority;
·         Parish or Town Council.

There will be one bill per dwelling, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, maisonette, mobile home or houseboat, and whether it is owned or rented.
