We apologise for the inconvenience that this causes however thank you for your understanding.

We are working hard with our contractors to continue to provide waste services as a priority and these are currently running on their normal schedule.  If there are impacts as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic we may need to reduce the service we provide.  If your bin is missed please do not call us, check for the latest information on waste / recycling collections here or on our social media channels. If the service is due to change we will update this page and our social media to let you know.

Update on Bonfires:

During the current Coronavirus pandemic with more people at home, having a garden bonfire, however tempting, would impact on a larger number of your neighbours than would normally be the case.

Smoke and smells from bonfires can aggravate respiratory problems such as asthma, bronchitis and COPD and affect those with heart complaints, causing breathing difficulties to those most vulnerable to Coronavirus.

Do not burn garden waste, paper, or any other waste, under any circumstances and be mindful of neighbours and fellow members of the community.

The Household Recycling Centres are not operating, and the Green Waste Club (brown bin collection service) has temporarily been suspended due to the impact of the Coronavirus on staff numbers.

This service has been suspended so the hard-working waste collection staff can continue to collect your black bag and household recycling waste. Please do your bit by resisting the temptation to have a spring clean at this time.

Please either compost garden waste or keep it in a safe place ready for when these services resume.

Home compost bins are a great way to help reduce garden and food waste and create great fertiliser for your garden. Find out more about composting and how to get a bin delivered.

Green waste club

A chargeable garden waste collection service is available to Arun residents. All waste collected is composted at a local facility and used in the Earth Cycle compost range. This service is provided on behalf of Arun District Council by our contractors, Biffa. You can find out more and sign up to the scheme on the Green Waste Club website, or by telephoning 0800 0858 286.
