Addendum to Arun District Local Plan 2003

 

Following a High Court judgement on the formally adopted Arun District Local Plan 2003, there are some textual alterations to be made.  The alterations are as set out below:

 

(a)   Policy SITE6 paragraph (i)

’40.24 hectares of land to accommodate 1,350 dwellings, which will consist of 650 dwellings at North Bersted and 700 dwellings at Felpham. 30% of these dwellings will be affordable housing, provided in accordance with Policy DEV17.’

 

(b)   Policy SITE6 paragraph 4.14, second inset point

’The precise western boundary of the open space to adjoin Berry Lane which will be determined in conjunction with the proposed layout of the adjoining housing.’

 

(c) Policy SITE6 paragraph 4.16

’The area allocated for housing on the proposals map at North Bersted has been reduced to preserve the character of Berry Lane and views from North Bersted to the north-west, and to allow for the plan, monitor and manage approach.  Public open space to meet the needs of the development can be provided within the extended public open space allocation.  As a result of a landscape appraisal, the area allocated for housing on the proposals map at Felpham has been reduced.  Within the remaining housing allocation, public open space to meet the needs of the development should be provided within the north western part of the housing allocation to ensure that this area is kept free from built development in accordance with the conclusions of the landscape appraisal.  Further detailed information will be provided in the development brief.’

 

(d) On the Inset B Bognor Regis - Felpham plan, delete the allocation of land at North Bersted for housing and the inclusion of that land in Policy SITE6.
