National Heating Grant Schemes

Please note: Following the last 13 years of providing heating and insulation grants, the Warm Front scheme has unfortunately come to an end. To allow time for all applications to be processed, the Government have closed the scheme for new applications from 19th January 2013. Any applications already in thier system will be processed in the normal way until they are complete but no new applications will be accepted.

There is new funding available for heating and insulation that will replace Warm Front. To find out if you are eligible for help contact the Energy Saving Advice Service (ESAS) on 0300 123 1234 for advice.

Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation Grants

man installing Cavity Wall insulation Insulating your walls and roof-space are two of the best ways of cutting your fuel bills, and making sure you can afford to keep warm. You could save up to £200 a year by installing these measures,

Grant funding has now changed in 2013 but now also includes help for harder to treat properties too such as solid wall buildings.  Arun District Council is currently looking at setting up a local scheme using the new funding, however this is still being worked out. In the meantime if you would like to get your home insulated and to find out whether you are eligible for some insulation or even a new heating kit you should call the Energy Saving Advice Service (ESAS)  0300 123 1234 for further advice.

For more information on the new funding schemes called “Green Deal” and “ECO”, please go the www.westsussexenergy.co.uk/greendeal

Grants & loans for Microgeneration Technologies

With the introduction of the Feed in Tariff (FIT) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), which pay you for generating renewable energy, there are no longer grants to help purchase renewable energy systems (with the exception of the Renewable Heat Premium during 2011-13, explained below). Currently Arun District Council does not have any local grants to help purchase any renewable energy systems but can provide impartial advice and assistance through the Arun's renewable energy pages. Alternatively for more specific advice you can contact Arun’s Energy Efficiency Officer by calling 01903 737755.

Between July 2011 and April 2013, if you install certain renewable heat technologies such as solar hot water systems, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps or biomass boilers then you may be eligible for a small grant as part of the Government's Renewable Heat Premium (RHP). The scheme is being administered by the Energy Saving Trust.

For more information on the FIT or RHI or to apply for the RHP call 0800 512012 or go to the Energy Saving Trust website.
