External Funding
In recent years the District has achieved considerable success in attracting investment and external funding: since Lottery grants were first distributed in March 1995, around £9.93 million of Lottery funding has been granted to some 255 projects within the Arun District, and over £10 million has been secured from the Single Regeneration Budget. The Council's Economic and Cultural Development Unit has played a key role in many of these success stories, and continues to advise upon and develop bids both within the Council and from the local community.
These pages aim to encourage greater awareness of the opportunities available through external funding sources to finance new projects in Arun, and increase knowledge and confidence amongst local voluntary and community groups in terms of how external funding can be used to meet their objectives.
Advice for community sports clubs: The Community Amateur Sports Club Scheme was introduced in 2002 to give Clubs enhanced financial benefits. It enables Clubs to claim tax relief including Gift Aid and to claim Mandatory Rate Relief of 80%. Visit www.cascinfo.co.uk for more details.
