Neighbourhood Recycling Centres

Household Waste Recycling Sites

 You can recycle many items by taking them to your local Neighbourhood Recycling Centre.

Neighbourhood Recycling Centres

There are 21 Neighbourhood Recycling Centres in the Arun District.  Large bins for recycling everything you can recycle at home are located at these centres. Clothes and shoes are also collected at some sites.

All materials should be clean, dry and loose.

What to recycle

Glass bottles and jars, any colour

Crockery, drinking glasses, window glass, Pyrex or light bulbs.

Metal cans and aerosols

Full or pierced aerosols. Food residues. Batteries.

Plastic bottles only

Any other type of plastic or plastic container e.g. margarine tubs, ready meal trays, plastic film, plastic bags.

Paper and cardboard - newspapers, magazines, cardboard, junk mail, telephone directories, office type paper

Shredded paper

Cartons

 

Foil and Foil Containers

 

Textiles- clean clothes, paired shoes, curtains, bed linen, fabric off cuts.      

Household goods or furniture. Duvets and pillows.

Textiles  

Textiles of all qualities can be recycled and reused. Good quality items may be used again as clothing and poorer quality materials can be used as rags for machinery or as upholstery stuffing.

 Most charity shops will also accept clothing and shoes.

Household Waste Recycling Sites

The Household Waste Recycling Sites, also know as Civic Amenity Sites or the tip, are provided by West Sussex County Council. Rubbish and recycling from your home can be taken to these sites. Lots of the waste is recycled or reused.
