Bognor Regis beach scoops Seaside Award again!

Bognor Regis’ East Beach has retained an award which recognises its first-class standards.

Today’s announcement of the prestigious Seaside Awards has been welcomed by Arun District Council which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the beaches.

Handed out by Keep Britain Tidy, the Seaside Award Flag is a sign that the facilities and cleanliness of the beaches are of the highest standard and it will fly over the East Beach in Bognor Regis and Littlehampton’s Coastguards [East] Beach again this season.

Councillor Stephen Haymes, Vice-Chairman of Arun District Council, joined other dignitaries on Bognor Regis seafront to raise the flags. They were joined by members of the Council’s Foreshores Team.

The Vice-Chairman, praised the hard work of everyone involved in maintaining both beaches to such a high standard.

He said: “It’s testament to all the hard work by the Council’s foreshores team that Bognor Regis’ East Beach has again been bestowed with this award. Praise should also be given to local people who respect the beach and help to keep the area tidy.”
