Boost your business with a LEAP grant

Arun District Council’s Economic Development Team has worked with all West Sussex authorities to secure £500,000 for grant schemes for small businesses.

The grant, the Local Enterprise and Apprenticeship Platform (LEAP), will provide £83,000 for small businesses in the Arun area.

People hoping to set up a new business, wanting to grow existing small businesses, or wanting to take on an apprentice, apply now for a grant of up to £2,000 towards the cost. Businesses will need to match grant money with other funds.

Applications for funding can be made from December 2016 until September 2017 and will be decided by a Grants Appraisal Panel at the Council. The scheme is on a first come first served basis and once all the funds have been allocated, applications will no longer be accepted.

Councillor Mrs Gillian Brown, Leader of Arun District Council and Cabinet Member for Council Strategy, said: “This is a great opportunity for people who have been thinking about starting or growing a small business or taking on an apprentice but have been worried about securing the funding.

“We are hoping that businesses will take advantage of this grant scheme in order to buy that piece of equipment, expand into those new premises or take on that member of staff they have been thinking about for a while.”
