Changes to webcasting of Council meetings

news bulletin The Council has had to take the decision to cease the live webcasting of its Full Council and Development Control Committee meetings. The decision was taken by the Council’s Cabinet on 9 December 2019, due to ongoing technical issues with the equipment and the systems behind it that have been beyond the Council’s control.

These meetings will still be recorded and be available via a link on the Arun District Council website to watch the following day which statistics show is currently the most popular way of accessing the meetings.

Cllr Dr Walsh. Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Economy said: “We are aware that this is not an ideal situation and are disappointed that we have been unable to deliver a faultless live-webcasting facility, despite best efforts from officers. We have taken the practical decision to make the meetings available, in full, the following day so that members of the public can watch them in their own time. We are looking at alternative provision for the future but for now we thank residents for their patience and understanding.”

These changes will come into effect from the next meeting of the Development Control Committee on 8 January 2020 and the Full Council meeting on 15 January 2020.
