j maconachie It is with great sadness that Arun District Council shares the news that Cllr Mrs Jacqui Maconachie has lost her battle with cancer.

Mrs Maconachie died at home on the morning of Friday 11 August. Our thoughts are with her husband Cllr Dougal Maconachie and loved ones at this time.

Jacqui leaves a legacy behind her having served as an Arun District Councillor for 22 years in the Aldwick West ward. During that time Jacqui served as Chairman of the Council (2001 to 2002) and more recently as Chairman of the Development Control Committee and Local Plan Sub-Committee as well as proving an active and influential member of many other committees.

Nigel Lynn, Chief Executive of Arun District council said “Jacqui was passionate and determined councillor who cared and worked hard. Jacqui will be missed by so many, and on behalf of Arun district council, I offer my sincere condolences to her family and friends.”
