Free parking for shoppers as Arun gears up for Christmas
Arun District Council is pleased to announce that a number of council-run car parks in the district will be free again this year over the festive period.
As part of an ongoing campaign to encourage people to support local shops and businesses on the traditional high street, parking will be free on Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas 2016.
This includes Small Business Saturday on 3 December, a national event aimed at supporting, inspiring and promoting small business all year round.
The car parks and dates of the free parking are as follows:
Small Business Saturday – 3 December
Bognor Regis – Fitzleet, Lyon Street and Hothamton Car Parks
Littlehampton – St Martins & Manor House Car Parks
Christmas Free Parking – Fitzleet, Bognor Regis
26 November, 10 December, 17 December and 24 December
Christmas Free Parking – Manor House, Littlehampton
10 December, 17 December and 24 December
Councillor Paul Dendle, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Amenities, said: “As a council, we recognise that Christmas is one of the busiest and most important times of the year for local traders. Small businesses are the backbone of Arun’s economy, so we’re delighted to once again be able to offer a festive boost to the high street with free parking.”
The free parking doesn't include any privately run car parks. The disabled bays will also remain strictly for the use of blue badge holders only.
