Have your say on Littlehampton Town Centre’s design

Arun District Council is seeking your views on how to make Littlehampton Town Centre even better.

The Council is developing design plans to improve publically owned spaces in the town which include paving, seating, lighting and planting.

Arun is now inviting suggestions and comments through public consultation where your ideas may be incorporated into the design process.

Councillor Mrs Gillian Brown, Leader of Arun District Council and Cabinet Member for Council Strategy, said: “This consultation is an important phase in the process for the development of Littlehampton Town Centre.

“The consultation period will give you the opportunity to help shape the future of the town centre for years to come.

“The Council is hopeful that when the detailed design plans have been completed it will help enable Arun District Council to secure future external funding to deliver the scheme.”

The Council is working with landscape architects, LDA Design, who has produced outline plans following a series of focus groups with stakeholders including community groups, local businesses and Town, District and County Councillors. These plans will form part of the consultation.

The public consultation will take place from Monday, 25 April until Sunday, 15 May.

You can have your say by completing an online survey which will be available from Monday, 25 April at the regeneration in Littlehampton page or you can collect a questionnaire from reception at Arun Civic Centre in Maltravers Road, Littlehampton, where design plans will be available to view.

There will also be an exhibition at Hunnies Café and Lounge, 72 High Street, Littlehampton, where the design plans will be displayed and you can meet the project team to find out more about the plans.

The exhibition takes place between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, 5 May, Friday, 6 May and Saturday, 7 May.

Once the consultation has been completed, the Council will review the findings with LDA Design to then produce detailed design plans. These plans will be discussed at the Littlehampton Regeneration Sub Committee on Wednesday, 6 July 2016.
