Is your family looking for a fun way to be healthier?

Are you searching for a way to be healthier as a family? Why not come along to one of Arun Wellbeing’s family orienteering sessions in early September?

The free courses will test families’ map reading skills as well as their fitness through an interactive treasure hunt, searching for points of interest, each of which will contain a question about healthy eating, activity, home energy advice and other services Arun Wellbeing offer.

Any family group that finds all the points of interest and answers all the questions will win prizes which may include medals, lunchboxes and water bottles.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Families often lead busy lives meaning exercising together can be difficult.

“Therefore, these sessions have been introduced to encourage families to exercise together, learn something new and have fun.

“Orienteering is an enjoyable way of getting healthier. Anyone can complete the course and it is not necessary to run, though you can if you want to, as the courses can be completed at your own pace.”

The orienteering sessions will start from the following venues:

Littlehampton Promenade, on Saturday, September 3, near the coastguard station.

Hotham Park in Bognor Regis on Saturday, September 10, near the car park.

For both sessions, register at the black and green Wellbeing Gazebo at any time between 9am to 10.30am, the sessions finish at 12pm. Trained professionals will be located here to offer advice, first aid and equipment where needed.
