Keep your park home warm this winter

Keep your home warm this winter

Arun District Council is encouraging those living in park homes who may struggle to heat their homes or pay energy bills this winter to take advantage of the Park Home Warm Home Discount Scheme.

The Warm Home Discount is a Government scheme which provides eligible households with a £140 discount on their electricity bill.

A park home is a mobile home and there are lots of sites across the Arun district. Many park home residents pay the site owner directly for the electricity they use rather than having an account with an energy provider. This scheme has been specially set up for these residents who otherwise would not benefit, from the Warm Homes Discount.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Winter is a traditionally expensive time of year so I would encourage families and residents living in park homes to contact their site owner.

“I would urge people interested in taking advantage of the discount to act fast because there is a limited time to make an application. All applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis.

“There are also plenty of tips available on the Arun Wellbeing website about how you can keep your home warm and your energy bills low this winter.”

To find out if you are eligible for this discount you can contact Charis on 03303 80 10 40 or visit the Park Homes Warm Homes Discount website.
