Toilets set to make way for Castle views

toilets in mill road Plans have been submitted to demolish the old public toilets in Mill Road, Arundel, and landscape the area for the public to enjoy.

If given the green light, the project will see the site opened up to views of Arundel Castle and the historic Blackfriars ruins which will be a point of interest for both local people and tourists.

Arun District Council has been working in partnership with Arundel Town Council, Arundel Castle Trustees, the Angmering Park Estate and the Norfolk Estate on this new vision, which is considered to be of greater benefit to the town than the retention of the toilet block for other possible purposes.

The planning application, submitted to planners at Arun District Council by Angmering Park Estate, will be considered in due course.
