The Syrian Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme
In response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Government has pledged to resettle 20,000 people during the term of this Parliament. There are an estimated 13.5 million Syrian people in need of humanitarian assistance. All local authorities across the country have been asked to pledge their support and indicate how many people they could assist.
Locally, all seven District and Borough Councils, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and a range of voluntary and community sector groups are coming together to provide the West Sussex offer. It is being co-ordinated by West Sussex County Council and more information can be found on their Syrian refugee crisis page.
