Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is a public project plan identifying which local development documents will be produced, in what order and when.  It sets out the work programme for the preparation of the statutory development plan over a 3 year time period. 

The Local Development Scheme (2025-2028) was published in May 2025.

Note - the Local Plan will now be prepared in conformity with the new system for plan preparation. As required by the new procedures, 'timetables' will replace the Local Development Scheme.  The council will publish a 'Notice of Intention to Commence' plan preparation by the end of 2026 and this will include a link to the initial timetable.  Further detail on the timeline for Local Plan preparation will be confirmed in 2027.
