New Community Infrastructure Levy for Arun District

Blueprints representing the CIL Arun District Council is preparing a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

This is a planning charge which can be used as a tool for local authorities to help deliver the infrastructure needed to support the development in their area. CIL is charged on the net additional floor-space of liable development on a ‘pound per square metre’ basis.

As part of the preparation of the Arun CIL, the CIL Sub-Committee will consider two reports on Thursday 27 September 2018. The first report will ask members of the sub-committee to note new viability evidence, which will underpin the proposed CIL charges.

The second report will ask the CIL Sub-Committee to recommend to Full Council that public consultation is carried out on a document called the Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule (PDCS) (which will set out proposed CIL rates) between 12 November 2018 – 7 January 2019.

Further details regarding the preparation of the CIL charging schedule will be made available on the Arun District Council CIL webpage: www.arun.gov.uk/cil
