Public toilet refurbishment update

Public toilet proposals aim to deliver a solution to suit all

Toilets sign The first phase of Arun District Council’s public WC refurbishment programme is now coming to an end and the toilets in Culver Road, Felpham and St Martins car park, Littlehampton are almost complete.

The Council are due to begin phase 2 of the improvement programme shortly, working in partnership with appointed contractors, Green Manor Building Ltd.

This next phase will see delivery of fully refurbished public toilets in Hotham Park in Bognor Regis and in Norfolk Gardens, Littlehampton. The proposed work will provide significant improvements to these toilets.

The Council would like to ask residents and visitors for their understanding as there will be temporary closure of both toilets while the refurbishment takes place. Signs for alternative toilets will be provided to direct members of the public to the nearest facilities.

The Hotham Park toilets will be worked on from 29 October and it is anticipated that they will be completed before Christmas. The nearest alternative public toilets can be found at the London Road car park, Bognor Regis, PO21 1BA.

Norfolk Gardens in Littlehampton will be worked on during the same period and members of the public will be directed to the toilet facilities at Coastguards, Littlehampton Seafront, BN17 5LH.

Cabinet Member for Technical Services, Cllr Stephen Haymes said “I would like to thank the public and local businesses for their continued patience whilst this essential planned maintenance work is undertaken. These improvements are much needed and the Council have chosen to do this outside of peak season to minimise disruption.”
