Roll up your sleeves for the Great British Spring Clean!

heroes assemble Arun District Council is backing Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean and encouraging local people to take part in a community clean-up.

Over the weekend of 2 to 4 March 2018, you can join thousands of others up and down the country by helping to clear up local litter to improve your neighbourhood.

Council officers will be issuing bags and litter pickers to all those who wish to get involved. The Council’s street cleansing contractor, Biffa, and grounds maintenance contractor, ISS Facility Services Landscaping, will then collect the bags of unwanted litter.

Whether you’re planning to go it alone, or join in with one of the hundreds of organised events across the country, you can register at www.keepbritaintidy.org for the Great British Spring Clean and make a difference.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “Our cleansing contractors do an excellent job of keeping the district clean, but there are litter hotspots which residents can help us to tackle during the Great British Spring Clean.

“Although those who drop litter are in the minority, we would urge everyone to use bins to dispose of their litter to keep our district looking as good as possible. We are extremely grateful to all those joining us for this fantastic weekend event and getting into the spirit of the community clean-up.”
