Arun District Council's Corporate Plan and Service Delivery Plan indicators 2018-2022

On 12 February 2018, Cabinet approved the 11 Corporate Plan and 23 Service Delivery Plan (SDP) indicators which will be effective for the four year period from 1 April 2018 until 31 March 2022.  These were formally adopted by Full Council on 7 March 2018.

The Corporate Plan indicators remain under the existing Priority Themes which were adopted for the previous period 2013-2017:

  • Your Future: Strengthening our economy through regeneration and better infrastructure
  • Your Council Services: Serving our communities well by delivering the best services we can afford
  • If you and your family need help: Supporting those people in our district who need our help

These indicators will be reported to the Council's Corporate Management Team (CMT) every quarter and to the Council's Cabinet and Overview Select Committee (OSC) every 6 months and year end, throughout the life of the Plan.

Strategic Targets

At their Full Council meeting on 13 November 2019, Members agreed to a set of Strategic Targets.  See the link to the report for full details:

These Strategic Targets are updated regularly by officers and Group Leaders are kept informed of progress.

The Strategic Targets are as follows:





Overarching Targets that support all the Council’s other targets

1. Environment and Climate Change


To prepare Arun’s response to the Environment and Climate Emergency by formulating a high-level report that sets out a proposed way forward, to include reference to a strategy and action plan to help mitigation

2. Equality and Diversity


Refresh the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy by implementing its recommendations the Council will ensure equality and diversity is the heart of its services to the community


3.Local Plan

Whilst developing a new planning framework to deliver the Council’s priorities.


To establish new town centre retail plans for Arundel, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton,


To actively promote a change in governance from an Executive (Cabinet) system to a Committee system at the earliest opportunity.


To maintain a prudent Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) within the current national uncertainty on Local Government finance to put the Council in the best financial position.



Maximise the number of social houses/units provided annually within the confines of the HRA Business Plan by utilising all resources available.

8.Public Engagement (digital) Strategy

To engage better with the public by creating a digital and public engagement strategy.

9.Future of Bognor Regis Town Hall


To consider how best to utilise the Town Hall for the community ensuring any actions are legally compliant.

10. Improve local wage levels

To assist in improving the average wage of people working in Arun by exploring all potential options.
