Bersted

The Arun Local Plan identifies the West of Bersted strategic allocation under policy H SP2a (SD3) as providing at least 2,500 dwellings over the plan period.

Alongside the residential development, the strategic allocation will need to meet key infrastructure requirements. These requirements will consist of a new three-form primary school and nursery places, a new 3G pitch facility, new sports pitches and facilities, a community hub, road/pedestrian/cycle link improvements to Pagham and Bognor Regis and incorporate planned new employment provision.

Developers will also be required to ensure that there is no detrimental impact to Pagham Harbour SPA/Ramsar as well as preparing a comprehensive strategy for surface water management.
