A27 Crossbush to Poling – overnight closures for resurfacing (information from National Highways)
National Highways have advised that there will be overnight road closures from Monday 29 April to Friday 17 May 2024, on a section of the A27 at Crossbush to Poling.
They have advised resurfacing and improvements will be carried out to maintain safety and improve the journey for road users, while preventing the need for unplanned closures.
Work will be carried out weeknights between 8pm and 6am only, when there is less traffic on the road. This work is being completed in phases starting from the evening of Monday 29 April.
During the day the road will be open as usual.
This work is subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress.
Closure information
Monday 29 April to Thursday 2 May - the A27 eastbound will be closed between Crossbush (A284 junction) and Clapham (A280 junction) from 8pm to 6am each night.
Friday 3 to Friday 10 May - the A27 westbound between Clapham and Crossbush will be closed weeknights from 8pm to 6am each night.
Monday 13 to Friday 17 May - the A27 will be fully closed between Clapham and Crossbush from 8pm to 6am each night.
During the closures a diversion will be in place via A280, A259 and A284.

Access to properties on the A27
During the eastbound closures, please join the westbound A27 and use the crossovers to access properties east of Blakehurst Lane.
During the westbound and full closures, access to properties on the A27 between the Clapham junction and Poling Street will be maintained from Clapham. The Poling Street crossover will be closed, so to access properties between Poling Street and Crossbush, please use Poling Street. This is for access only.
