Littlehampton seafront scheme update – 19 April 2024
You might see some activity around the seafront at Littlehampton next week as the contractor carries out some additional surveys. The information collected will help to finalise design details and plans for the construction work.
As you may be aware from previous updates, the aim of the scheme is to improve the seafront as a destination for visitors to boost tourism, as well as making it more attractive to local residents.
The updates will include improvements to the visual appearance of the car park and an improved ‘welcome’ for pedestrians arriving from South Terrace.
Activities in the plan include water play, beach volleyball, basketball and pétanque (a form of lawn bowling) as well as sensory play and relaxation.
A new toilet block will increase capacity at busy times and concession units at Banjo Road are set to attract new businesses.
