Arun Building Control Charges fixed for fourth consecutive year

freeze Arun Building Control has fixed its building control charges at the same level for a fifth consecutive year from this April. This means that local residents and businesses wishing to carry out building works whilst using the Council’s building control service will not pay any more than they did in 2013.

Whether residents are considering extending or altering their home, business premises or even building a new house, Arun District Council’s building control team are available to help ensure the works are carried out correctly.

They can offer guidance, support, plan checking and site inspections, and as part of the process, they issue a scheme of charges which vary, depending on the amount or type of work needed. This helps to ensure that new building works are safe and compliant for all Arun’s residents, businesses and visitors.

Councillor Ricky Bower, Cabinet Member for Planning and Infrastructure, said: “Arun Building Control provides consistently high levels of customer service and value for money.

“Despite the current climate of challenging financial constraints, the Council have not increased these charges since 2013 and this is proof of the efficient and effective work that they do to ensure customers come first.”
