June 2017 UK Parliamentary Election timetable starts

ballot box With just one month to go until UK voters take to the polls to vote in the UK Parliamentary election, preparations at Arun District Council are well underway.

Poll cards are being issued to those who are registered to vote. Please check the details on your poll card very carefully.

Poll Cards are being delivered by Royal Mail from 8th May – you should expect to receive your Poll Card by 15th May.

If you do not receive your Poll Card and are unsure if you are Registered, please email elections@arun.gov.uk they will be able to confirm if you are registered and where your Polling Station is.

If you are not Registered, the deadline date for Registration for the General Election is 22nd May

If you are already registered to vote, you do not need to re-register for this election.

The publication of Statement of Person Nominated and the Situation of Polling Stations will be available on the Arun District Council website sometime after 4pm on 11 May 2017. www.arun.gov.uk/uk-parliamentary-elections this webpage will be updated regularly as information becomes available.

Nigel Lynn, Acting Returning Officer, Arun District Council said  “Please keep a look out for your poll card coming through the letter box, and let us know if you don’t receive one or if there are changes to the details. It is so important to be able to use your vote and we wouldn’t want anybody who is eligible, to be denied that right. You have until 22 May 2017 to register to vote in these elections.”

The deadline to request a new postal vote or to change or cancel an existing postal vote is 5pm on 23 May. Requests for new proxy votes must be received by Arun District Council by 5pm on 31 May.
