Leisure & Events

Following the message from the Prime Minister on 14th June 2021 England remains at ‘Step 3’ of Coronavirus steps to recovery.  As a Local Authority we are closely monitoring Coronavirus developments and following government guidance, along with any localised restrictions or Public Health guidance.  Please note that new or additional event, filming or outdoor activity applications cannot be accepted.

For up to date Coronavirus information from Arun District Council, please visit https://www.arun.gov.uk/coronavirus. For government information, visit https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Events in 2021 which have been previously acknowledged as provisionally reserved continue to be received for assessment, but this must be in advance of the minimum timescales in the Council’s Events Policy to allow adequate review time for all agencies involved.

Organisers are advised to consider their individual positions and the implications mass gatherings may have on the transmission of Covid-19, and note all applications for any activity upon, or impacting on, Arun District Council controlled land must be supported at the time of application by a full Covid-19 Risk Assessment, Management Plan and all other supporting and required documents.  Organisers are further advised to have a plan in place for event cancellation, should that course of action be necessary which should include communicating any changes to all those involved (contractors, employees/volunteers and public and emergency services), and check the validity of insurance prior to application.

Further information from WSCC Public Health assistance / guidance regarding Covid-19 Risk Assessment is provided below for your reference. If you have any questions in relation to the content of either document please contact WSCC Public Health by emailing publichealth@westsussex.gov.uk
