Litter

We are serious about keeping our district clean and green.

Littering is antisocial, harms wildlife and costs money to clean up.

Who keeps our streets clean

Our contractor, Biffa, work all year round to keep our streets and public areas clean and litter-free.

Their teams are responsible for emptying the bins and cleaning the streets of our district.

Bins

We have 619 litter bins and 468 dog bins around Arun. Our parks team have more locations in our parks and green areas. Parish and town councils also have their own bins. With this many bins to use, there is never an excuse to drop your litter!

The bins in our busy areas are emptied at least once a day.

If you find a bin that is full or overflowing, you can report it to us online:

Report a full bin

If the bin is full, please use another or take your rubbish home with you.

Street cleaning

Our town centres and busy areas are cleaned daily. Other roads in the district are cleaned on a rota basis.
