Aileen Evans OBE Appointed Chair of Arun District Council Housing Improvement Board
Arun District Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Aileen Evans OBE as the new Chair of its Housing Improvement Board, following the sad passing of the Board's previous Chair, Hattie Llewelyn-Davies.
Aileen brings more than four decades of housing leadership experience and is widely recognised as one of the most respected figures in the UK housing sector. Her recent award of an OBE is testament to her outstanding contribution to housing and public service.
With over 30 years of executive-level experience, Aileen has led major housing organisations, driven service transformation, championed customer-focused improvements and influenced national housing policy. She has held senior positions including Chief Executive of Grand Union Housing Group and currently serves in several board and governance roles across the sector.
The Housing Improvement Board plays a vital role in supporting Arun District Council's commitment to delivering high-quality housing services for residents and ensuring continuous improvement across its housing operations.

“I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of the Housing Improvement Board for Arun District Council. The Board is responsible for overseeing the council's work to improve services to residents and leaseholders. I am keen to support the council in building on the work they have already achieved under the inspirational leadership of Hattie Llewelyn-Davies. It is a privilege to have been appointed to carry on what Hattie started. There are clear plans in place to improve services. The challenge now is to make sure the changes happen and outcomes for residents change and improve. “
