Alexandra Theatre construction work - progress update - April
Work at the Alexandra Theatre redevelopment continues, with activity across multiple fronts as the project moves deeper into its internal fit-out phase.
Internal work
Underfloor heating installation is underway across both the ground and first floors, with screed laying following in tandem. These are important early-stage elements of the building's internal fabric, laying the groundwork for the fit-out works that will follow in the coming weeks.
Initial builder's work to the internal plant room within the existing building have also commenced, alongside the commencement of first fix mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations. Site setup for the M&E programme is now in place, marking a significant step forward as the project transitions from structural works into the building services phase.
Roofing work
Roofing work is progressing across both the existing building and the fly tower, with standing seam roof installation underway. The flat roof area to the new west extension is also being addressed, with felt roofing works ongoing. Completion of the roof across all areas remains a key priority to bring the building to a fully weathertight condition.
Curtain walling
curtain walling work have now commenced, representing a visible and significant milestone in the project's external envelope programme. This work will continue to develop over the coming weeks.
Looking ahead
During the week commencing 20 April, all the above workstreams are expected to continue, with steady progress anticipated across roofing, curtain walling, M&E first fix, and internal fit-out activities.
The Alexandra Theatre redevelopment remains a central element of the wider Regis Rejuvenation programme, and the project team continues to work diligently to deliver a high-quality facility for the people of Bognor Regis.
