Alexandra Theatre redevelopment – site activity continues as next key phases approach
Construction at the Alexandra Theatre continues to progress steadily, with work currently focused on forming the external structure of the building. This stage of the programme is vital in establishing the building's new external structure and making it watertight-laying the groundwork for internal fit-out to begin in due course.
In the coming weeks, two significant workstreams are due to begin:
- reinforced concrete (RC) frame preparation, scheduled for the week commencing 5 August, which will support key structural elements of the new theatre layout
- roof carpentry work, expected to begin from 11 August, as part of the reconfiguration and restoration of the historic roof structure
This work is essential in shaping the external fabric of the building before progressing with internal phases once the structure is enclosed and protected from the elements.
The project remains under active management by Neilcott Construction Ltd and continues to move forward in line with the agreed programme. The site remains safe, secure, and fully operational throughout.
Further details will be shared in our next scheduled project update on 15 August, with an additional update to follow on 29 August.
