Crowd at the tombola stand on ADC Macmillan Coffee Morning On Wednesday 26 September, Arun District Council’s staff fundraising team IGNITE, supported by officers, Councillors and local businesses, hosted an event in support of the Macmillan Coffee Morning initiative. Proceeds from the coffee mornings totalled a staggering £950 to date and that number is still growing.

The Macmillan coffee morning is an annual event for all at Arun District Council, both at the Civic Centre in Littlehampton and at Bognor Regis Town Hall. The cake and Savouries stall, tombola, bidding competition, pic ‘n’ mix cones and Treasure square raffle were a great hit as well as a very successful Edgcumbes Tea and Coffee stall.

Support for the cause was shown by a multitude of local businesses in the form of bid donations. Bids were made for prizes supplied by World of Books, Angmering On-Sea Lawn Tennis Club, Arundel Lido, DART East Preston, Dinky Doo Diner, East Preston Parish Council, Harbour Park, The Lanes Gym in Rustington, Littlehampton Books, Picturedrome Cinema, The Clockhouse, The Coastal Coffee Co, The Fish Factory, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Paul Bennett. Prizes included gift vouchers for local restaurants, cinema tickets, books, wine and many more luxury items.

Cllr Alan Gammon, Chairman of Arun District Council said, “It was a proud day for our staff who set up and ran the Macmillan fundraising event. They had worked tirelessly to raise, with some councillors, such a magnificent sum for this worthy cause".
