It is with heartfelt sadness that we must share the news that one of our District Councillors, Cllr Chris Blanchard-Cooper passed away on 30 April 2020.

Chris was truly part of the Arun Family, both during his time as a member of staff, working in Arun Direct between December 2007 and April 2017, and also as elected ward member for Brookfield Ward. Chris was elected to represent the Liberal Democrats in May 2019 and served on the Licensing Committee and Housing and Customer Services Working Party. 

Chris was also a Littlehampton Town Councillor serving from 7 September 2017 representing the River Ward and continuing from 2 May 2019 representing the Beach Ward. 

Chris will be missed by all those that had the honour of knowing him.

This sad news came as a shock to us all and we send our sincerest condolences, love and thoughts to Chris’s husband, Cllr Billy Blanchard-Cooper and their loved ones at this time. 

We are flying the Arun Flag at half-mast as a mark of respect to our colleague and friend.
