Did you know? State Pension Age is increasing
From 6 April 2026, the State Pension age will rise from 66 to 67. This change affects many residents in the Arun District, especially those born in the early 1960s.
Here's what you need to know
- if you were born between 6 April 1960 and 5 March 1961, you'll reach your State Pension age at 66 years and a specified number of months
- from 6 April 2026, the State Pension age increases to 67 for everyone born on or after 6 April 1961
- the State Pension is not paid automatically - but you'll receive an invitation to apply from The Pension Service about four months before you reach your State Pension age
