Did you know? We celebrate Armed Forces Day on 28 June 2025
Armed Forces Day in the United Kingdom is an annual event celebrated in late June to commemorate the service of the British Armed Forces.
Veterans' Day was first observed in 2006. The name was changed to Armed Forces Day in 2009.
It is a national celebration to show support for the men and women of the Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets, and their families. We give thanks for their hard work, dedication and efforts to and keep us safe in the UK and across the globe.
Communities across the UK, are hosting their own events with parades, music, and family-friendly activities to honour the Armed Forces.
Bognor Regis celebrated this special day on 21 June 2025 and Littlehampton will be holding their event tomorrow on the Seafront Green, with activities from 10.30am to 17.00pm.
The Armed Forces Covenant ensures ongoing support for service members and their families throughout the year and Arun District Council support this. Our Armed Forces Community Covenant is a voluntary statement of mutual support between the district council and its local armed forces community.
We have also recently been honoured with a Silver Award for our Armed forces support. Read more here: Arun District Council honoured with Silver Award for Armed Forces Support | Latest news | Arun District Council
