Message from Dawn Hudd, Chief Executive of Arun District Council
As Chief Executive of Arun District Council, I have a duty of care to all our employees and am committed to supporting them in carrying out their roles professionally and safely.
I understand that residents can sometimes feel frustrated about council decisions, services, or interactions. When this happens, I encourage anyone with concerns about a member of staff to raise them directly with the council through the appropriate channels, rather than naming individuals on social media.
Sharing the names of officers online can lead to misinformation, speculation, and unfair criticism. It can also have a significant impact on an individual's wellbeing, both in their professional role and personal life. As an employer, I have a responsibility to ensure that our staff are treated with respect and can carry out their work without fear of personal attacks or harassment.
We welcome feedback and take concerns seriously, and there are constructive and effective ways to address issues. By contacting the council directly, we can ensure that concerns are investigated properly and any necessary action is taken.
I would like to thank our employees for their continued dedication to serving our communities, often in challenging circumstances, and I ask everyone to treat them with the same courtesy and respect that they would expect themselves.
Dawn Hudd
Chief Executive
Arun District Council
