A red heat-health alert is in place for the South East from 1am on Wednesday 24 June to 11pm on Thursday 25 June.

Habitat banking will give the council a clear and practical way to protect and restore nature as the district grows. We will start by reviewing council‑owned land to identify sites suitable for habitat creation or enhancement, carrying out careful assessments to ensure each location can support meaningful biodiversity improvements.

Armed Forces Week takes place Monday 22 to Sunday, 28 June 2026. It is a national campaign to build public understanding and support for the Armed Forces community - regulars, reserves, veterans, cadets, cadet adult volunteers and military families.

We are working with Counter Terrorism Policing to help keep everyone safe this summer and are supporting their campaign, encouraging the public to stay alert and report anything that doesn't feel right. 

Arun District Council's Empty Homes Team attended the National Empty Homes Conference in Birmingham on 20 May. The event brought together professionals from across the country to share best practice and share achievements in bringing empty properties back into use.
