Premier Inn opens - an exciting boost for Bognor Regis
The new Premier Inn in Bognor Regis town centre was officially opened by Whitbread PLC on Friday, 15 May 2026. The hotel is a valuable addition to the town, supporting local jobs and helping to attract more visitors to the town centre and seafront.
More than 50 local stakeholders, elected representatives and members of the community attended the launch event. To celebrate the opening, the team behind the new hotel were joined by MP Alison Griffiths, Arun District Council Chairman Cllr Freddie Tandy, Town Mayor Cllr Paul Ralph and Town Crier Jane Smith.
Situated on The Esplanade, directly opposite Bognor Regis beach, the new hotel introduces Premier Inn's latest-generation rooms, including upgraded 'Premier Plus' options, to the seafront. Many of the 116 high-quality rooms enjoy impressive sea views, making the hotel an attractive choice for visitors to Bognor Regis.
Cllr Freddie Tandy said: “The opening of this Premier Inn right on the seafront is an amazing opportunity for a town like Bognor Regis, which relies so much on tourism and hospitality. It will draw visitors, which from our perspective will benefit small businesses as well. I hope this presents an opportunity for families to discover that, with expensive overseas holidays, a stay here would be an excellent alternative.”
Cllr Roger Nash added: “The new hotel is a real validation of what we are doing now and for the future growth of Bognor Regis. We've got other developments coming down the line too, which will boost the local economy. This will encourage new and existing visitors to stay in this beautiful hotel and enjoy all the benefits that Bognor Regis has to offer.”
Whitbread acquired the site for the new Bognor Regis Premier Inn in 2022, securing planning permission from Arun District Council.
