RNLI and Scania UK Float to Live Roadshow comes to Littlehampton
Everyone is invited to take part in a unique water safety experience this summer as the RNLI and Scania UK's Float to Live Roadshow visits Littlehampton from 22 to 27 July. The Float to Live truck will be stationed on Sea Road.
The national campaign is touring coastal communities across the UK to raise awareness of the RNLI's potentially life-saving Float to Live message. Arun District Council is supporting the initiative as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting coastal safety and helping people enjoy the district's coastline responsibly.
The specially branded Scania truck and trailer will be located on Sea Road, Littlehampton, for a number of days as part of the nationwide tour, providing an interactive opportunity for people of all ages to learn essential water safety advice ahead of the busy summer season.
The Float to Live campaign aims to educate people on what to do if they unexpectedly enter cold water. By following the simple Float to Live technique, people can help counter the effects of cold-water shock and improve their chances of survival while awaiting rescue or until they can safely reach shore.
Visitors to the roadshow will be able to learn more about staying safe around the coast, rivers, harbours and other open water locations. Representatives from RNLI will be available to answer questions about water safety, coastal rescue and the Float to Live campaign.
The roadshow also highlights the value of partnership working, with RNLI, Scania UK (who provides the truck), Arun District Council coming together to deliver a shared commitment to public safety and community wellbeing.
