Simpler Recycling is on the way – here’s what to expect
If you live in the Arun district, you should have received a postcard in the mail explaining the new waste collection services launching in spring 2026. It will include everything you need to know right now.
Hold onto the postcard until you're familiar with the changes - it's a handy reference.
Don't worry if you didn't receive get one - all the details can be found on the link below.
At the same time as the weekly food waste collection service is introduced, Arun will move to a fortnightly general waste collection using a new 180-litre wheeled bin for most properties.
You can 'opt out' if you already have a 180-litre bin, or smaller. If you need guidance on bin sizes - follow the link below and go to 'General waste collections and general waste bin option' in the drop-down section and click on 'diagram to help you know the size of your existing bin' where you will find a bin size image.
Recycling will remain fortnightly.
Live in a flat? Don't worry, communal properties and homes with different collection arrangements will be handled separately. You'll receive direct communication before the new collections begin.
We'll also be sharing a series of frequently asked questions over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for answers to any queries you might have.
