Lockdown roadmap

Today (Monday 12 April) we moved onto step 2 of the lockdown roadmap, and further restrictions have been eased.

Non-essential retail, including hairdressers and nail salons can reopen. We have been working with partners such as Bognor Regis BID and Shop Littlehampton once more to help ensure that our return to retail runs as smoothly as possible and that our high streets and smaller shopping areas are Covid-secure and ready to welcome customers. Indoor leisure facilities such as gyms can also reopen, as will most outdoor attractions and settings including outdoor hospitality venues, zoos, theme parks, and drive-in cinemas.

Self-contained accommodation such as campsites and holiday lets can reopen but you can only stay with your household or support bubble.

The number of people able to attend weddings, receptions and commemorative events such as wakes has also risen to 15 people.

The easing of restrictions is great news, and we are excited to see Arun booming again, but we need to take this next step cautiously to ensure we can continue on the roadmap out of lockdown.

Please continue to maintain social distancing guidelines and continue to wear masks inside shops, unless exempt. Even if you have received your first, or both, of your Covid vaccines you are reminded of the importance of following Government guidelines and the message – Hands, Face, Space and Fresh Air.
