The West Green, Littlehampton update - 12 September 2025
With the summer holidays behind us, things are a little calmer along the seafront, though we're still hoping for some sunny days ahead. The water play area continues to be a popular spot for young visitors, helping to keep the seafront lively.
Although the site has now officially returned to Arun District Council, Neilcott Construction Ltd still has a presence on site and are working to complete a number of finishing touches in the coming weeks, including:
- groundwork and surfacing in the area north of the pumping station
- removal of temporary toilet units and surrounding compound, with the ground being restored
- installation of the remaining picnic benches
- grass seeding of the mounding and the area north of the pumping station, which will take some time to establish
- removal of the cabin near Banjo Road and continued tidying of the storage area to the north and west of the mounding
- reseeding of the overflow car park, with coordination underway to ensure the grass has time to establish
- improvements to the external showers, including a new surface
In addition to this work, any snagging and minor issues will continue to be monitored and addressed over the coming months.
