Warm Home Discount – deadline extended for eligibility
On 13 August 2025, the UK government reminded eligible households to ensure they are named on their electricity bills to automatically receive the £150 Warm Home Discount this winter.

The eligibility for the discount now includes people receiving one of the following benefits:
- Housing Benefit
- Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
- Income Support
- Pension Credits (guarantee and savings)
- Universal Credit
Households using pre-paid meters must ensure their account is registered in their name.
The qualifying date for automatic eligibility is Sunday, 24 August 2025. If not automatically matched, you should receive a letter later in the year.
