For Our Future.” It reinforces the idea that nature is fundamental to building climate resilience, safeguarding our shared future - not a nice-to-have - but a necessity.

Highlighting climate change focuses on the clear warnings our planet is sending and how we choose to respond - both individually and collectively.

Healthy ecosystems play a vital role in absorbing carbon, reducing flood risks, cooling urban areas and supporting biodiversity, all of which are essential as climate impacts become more frequent and severe.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) campaign encourages everyone to take action and explore how they can get involved, whether through small everyday changes or wider community initiatives.

While climate challenges are growing, so too are the solutions, find out more here: UNEP - UN Environment Programme.

Arun District Council is working towards a more sustainable future. Our Climate Action and Sustainability Work Plan 2025-26 sets out how we will move towards carbon neutrality by 2030, including cutting emissions, supporting biodiversity, and encouraging more sustainable lifestyles across our communities.

This means working with partners, residents and local organisations to drive meaningful change and ensure long-term environmental resilience.

Every action counts, and we can all help to protect and restore the natural environment for future generations.
