Arun.gov.uk

Together with services we work to a set of principles and standards that help to keep content up to date and relevant.

Arun.gov.uk is for everyone who needs to interact with the council.

Principles

  1. Always start with identifying customer needs.
  2. Content is prioritised and structured based on usage analysis.
  3. Information is correct from the start and its quality is maintained.
  4. Pages are clear, informative, easy to scan and written in plain English.
  5. Content is simple for users with different abilities to navigate, read and interpret.
  6. People can find the right page using a search engine or arun.gov.uk search, using words that make sense to them.
  7. Consistency is maintained across all pages.   This includes external sites that we can influence, for example eForms and customer portals.
  8. Content will be created in a way to ensure it can be used easily on all screen sizes (desktops, tablets and smartphones).
  9. Content that we are not responsible for or that someone else is doing better is not published directly on our website – we will provide a link.

Content standards

To ensure that information meets the arun.gov.uk principles, content standards apply to all requests for changing content .
