Healthcare permits
Healthcare permits are available to members of clinical, health and social care professions who need to park within the controlled parking zone (CPZ) for the purpose of home visits to patients as part of their employment.
Where healthcare permits can be used
Permits are valid for a maximum of two hours in the following bays:
- permit holders only
- shared use
- pay and display
They are not valid for use in taxi, loading and unloading bays, on yellow lines or outside healthcare premises.
The permit does not guarantee a space or that one will be available.
Who can use the permit
It’s possible for more than one vehicle to be included on the permit on an either/or basis, but it must be displayed in the parked vehicle.
Trailers are not allowed in ‘permit holders only’ spaces.
Displaying the permit
Permits must be clearly displayed in the windscreen of the vehicle. Failure to do so may result in a parking ticket (Penalty Charge Notice) being issued.

Healthcare permits are available at the following cost:
- 12 months £25
How to apply for a healthcare permit
Please email: car.parks@arun.gov.uk attaching a letter on headed paper from your healthcare employer confirming that the permit for home visits is necessary.
Change of vehicle, lost or stolen permits
A charge of £5 applies for a replacement permit (if you have changed your vehicle) or if the permit’s been lost or stolen. Please phone: 01903 737655 to order your replacement permit and make payment.
